Viviana loves to dress in a retro unique fashion – she never wants to dress like anyone else; she likes her own style, which always includes bright colors, especially in her accessories or her nails. We were so taken with her gorgeous silver hair! She was golden blonde a few days ago; she wanted something different for Valentine’s Day.
“I wanted to do something different. I was debating whether to do this (silver) or to do something brown, but you can always do brown. Let’s do silver, let’s go crazy!”
We escaped the downpour this afternoon and ducked into Ulta, where we found the lovely Brynn, who filled us in on the latest beauty trend: eyebrows! She absolutely loves her job, and was happy to explain that she achieves her perfect brows. Having them shaped is important, she says, and using a concealer on the concealer brush to carve out a crisp edge right under the brow, giving you the appearance of flawless brows. She follows that with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Genius loose brow powder, then seals it with the included waterproof gel on an angled brush.
“It’s a new trend. Definitely in the 90s it was all about having really soft brows. You didn’t really see dramatic makeup. Now it’s all about that retro Hollywood glamour type style.”

Kacie says she likes to shop at thrifts stores and online on the Mojave site.

Even in her Sports Chalet work uniform, Taylor still manages to show off her personal style. She accents her gorgeous, bronze-colored eyes with bold eyeliner, and tucked away behind her mass of beautiful, dark hair is a single dread lock. A past boyfriend started the dread for her and it took about three months for it to actually lock. While her current ensemble doesn’t represent her usual style, Taylor says she does like the clothes from Sports Chalet, which sells brands like Roxy and Billabong.
“When I’m not at work, I like trendy, hippy styles like long skirts,” says Taylor, who has worked at Sports Chalet for a year and a half. “I love wearing hats and love dangly earrings.” Her makeup inspiration comes from reality television star Kim Kardashian, and she gets some of her outfit ideas from Instagram photos.

We caught Kahi while on her way out with a friend for the night. Their first stop is a local college bar on the edge of the University of Oregon campus. Visiting from California, this young lady knows how to deal with the rainy Oregon weather in style. Her cute Victoria’s Secret umbrella is a great touch. Though her light grey stretch jeans were hand-me-downs from her mother in law, Liz proved that moms don’t have to wear mom jeans. She was out with her daughter Autumn when Go Girl was drawn to the pair’s matching color scheme. Liz, who lives in Oceanside, works as a makeup artist and isn’t shy about experimenting with her look.
“You have to show your inner beauty,” says Liz, who draws inspiration from adorably quirky actress Zooey Deschanel. “You wear clothes instead of them wearing you.”

Mandy doesn’t consider herself a fashionista. She likes to wear what appeals to her: simple, classy, contemporary pieces, rather than whatever trendy style is being marketed to her. Instead, she goes for what she’s comfortable wearing.
“I wouldn’t say I’m trendy, but I like style. Every girl likes to look pretty. It helps on my days off – I like to dress up!”

Looking put together in sportswear can be tricky. We think Rachel pulled it off perfectly! We loved her clean, simple, casual style. She’s a flight attendant, so she wears a uniform complete with stockings to work, and loves to be comfortable on her days off. That doesn’t stop her from having style!

We were obsessed with the yellow Kate Spade bag on the left. The bright, sunny color on a stormy, wet Seattle afternoon really improved our mood! A few minutes later, we noticed Marjon with her yellow handbag and had to catch up with her!
“I wanted something different. I had to downsize my bag; I would put every electronic gadget in my purse if I could because I think that I need it, and I really don’t!” she laughs.
Yellow handbag: Vince Camuto
Abby was feeling a little too shy to be on camera but agreed to let Go Girl feature her super cute Michael Kors bag and New Balance kicks. This Chinese international student is studying business at the University of Oregon and says she likes to cook with her friends when she’s not studying. Her style is influenced by Chinese and Japanese fashion.
“I like to incorporate bright colors and patterns,” she told Go Girl.

Rachel says she gets her amazing style from her many trips to New York. While there, she checks out the people on the streets and then brings back ideas. That’s where she found the scarf she’s wearing – in a little wholesale shop, for around $10.
What she likes best about New York? “I just like watching the people on the streets and seeing how they dress, how they put outfits together, how they mix and match things, and how they accessorize. They’re way more out there than I would ever be, but it gives me ideas!”

We loved the way Mila accessorized her all black outfit! The white belt and the animal print scarf look amazing! She says she looks for pieces that fit her well and look classic, edgy, feminine.

Karla planned to have a photoshoot on the beach with her boyfriend to celebrate their one-year-anniversary, but first she needed to buy a shirt. Go Girl caught up with her in San Marcos, after she’d just finished some shopping! The full-time student’s gym attire would lead you to believe that she had just finished a class at the gym, but she said she dressed for comfort instead.
“I draw inspiration from Wanelo, a website,” says Karla, a hostess at a restaurant. She says her style is generally “cute but casual” and she loves to frequent Nordstrom Rack.

We couldn’t pass up Sarah and all of the gorgeous colors in the Kate Spade store! She’s obsessed with fashion and style and had some great points to share! Sarah explains that metallics are the new neutral. She says everyone needs a basic nude shoe, but also a metallic to just pump it up a bit! Wear them with black pants, a white button down, and classic jewelry!
“People always ask me what my style is, and I say it depends on what day you catch me. It’s really what you’re vibing with and what you want to channel. Self expression is really your style!”

“I really like simple clothing, with modern, clean lines, but I like the edgy style too – I really think those things go together!”
We were drawn to Michelle’s unique vintage Hudson Bay coat while she was working at a coffee shop in NW Portland. Her style is professional and a bit preppy. She says she is a lover of good coffee and long walks in the city. Michelle is a graphic designer who owns her own business that caters mostly to businesses in the food and beverage industry.
“I like being able to work with clients to help them express their businesses visually,” she told Go Girl.

Kansas was walking her super cute bulldog Guinness while on break from her job with a real estate investment firm when Go Girl met up with her to talk about her outfit. Her Frye boots have been helping keep her feet nice and dry in the rainy Portland weather. Kansas had a hard time naming her style, but landed on ‘casual’ as a good adjective. Outside of work, Kansas is athletic and loves to participate in Spartan races (races involving obstacles). How fun!
“Running in a Spartan race gives you a goal,” she told Go Girl. “You can make it as difficult as you want.”

Teagan says that when she shops, she looks for pieces that will work well with a number of other pieces in her closet, to maximize the versatility of her wardrobe. She calls this sweater her “Captain Crunch sweater,” and her owl tattoo is her tribute to her best friend’s dad, who recently passed away.
She explained what she looks to for inspiration: “I like to look online at high end – nothing I could ever afford – and think, ‘What can I find that is totally different but kind of looks the same.’ Whatever I’m comfortable with!”

Halymah is preparing for nursing school and busy with all that entails. She’s taking classes to prepare for the exams and considering which programs to apply for! She’s not excited about wearing clunky nursing shoes, but she does look for quality when shopping for footwear! With our short Seattle summers, she says she’ll buy things like sandals at a trendier store, but that when she is shopping for boots or shoes, she pays for quality.
“I’m not a label girl, but I look for things that will last a long time.”

Despite the rain, we think Shannon looks chic with her dark colors and cool, hand-made leather bag. A girl on the go, we caught up with Shannon (literally, had to run to keep up with her) as she was running errands for her internship. We didn’t get to chat for too long, but it’s easy to see that this professional lady has an eye for style and loves hand-made pieces.
“I do a lot of shopping on Etsy,” she told Go Girl.

We caught Lisa on a rainy day in Portland. A recent snow storm had most locals bundled up wearing waterproof clothing and shoes; we fell in love with Lisa’s cute rubber boots! Lisa says she borrowed them from a friend in college and just never gave them back.. oops! Her cool coat is a great find from her recent trip to Japan to visit her mother. She says that she likes to incorporate Japanese fashion into the way she dresses.
“I like to wear eccentric Japanese patterns,” she told Go Girl. “I just got off work, though, so I’m dressed more conservatively right now.”

In her free time, Abigail loves to participate in outreach events through her church. Right now, she’s helping orchestrate an Easter event.
