Go Girl met up with Hanna on her 18th birthday while out getting ice cream at Portland icon Salt & Straw in a trendy shopping neighborhood. We love her Canadian tuxedo look! Hanna aspires to become a physical therapist one day, and plans to go to college to study the human body and how physical therapy can heal wounded people. This busy high school senior says she likes to keep her style simple.
“Adding punches of color to simple basics works best for me,” she told Go Girl.

Baylee works for a fishing company based in Seattle, but she spends her summers working in Alaska. She told Go Girl that she doesn’t look cute at work, but explains that the rest of the time, she looks for pieces that are flattering to her shape. We love her Zebra sweater and the cross-body, chain handbag she’s wearing!
She’s having a change of heart right now about her personal style: ”My style is kind of morphing right now. I used to really like the cheap stuff. I’d just want to shop cheap, but now I’m going with quality over quantity.”

Caty doesn’t like to admit it, but her friends tell me that she has a very girly style! She says she’s going for a more chic approach, so they compromised and named her style “cutesy-chic.” She says that being smart about what you wear is important. One thing she won’t compromise on is where she shops for shoes.
“I buy as much as possible at Nordstrom, because their clothing lasts forever!” she tells Go Girl. “Otherwise, I’ll just buy whatever catches my eye.”

Janet was spotted by Go Girl as she headed to Art Walk in Downtown Los Angeles. Janet says what excites her about life is discovery!

Keltik loves the challenge of finding really great pieces at thrift stores, and says that the clip in her hair actually cost more than her entire outfit! We adore her belted dress and the embellished cardigan! She describes her style as feminine and flirty, yet practical.
“I’m practical, but at the same time I don’t want to be boring. I’d rather sacrifice a little warmth to have something on that is a little cute, a little fun.”

Mia is an actress and model in Portland who Go Girl caught on the street… no wonder she looks so good on camera! We stopped Mia to chat about her outfit while she was on her way to the coast for a day trip with her boyfriend. She says her style is ever-changing, like a mood ring. We were instantly attracted to her unique, metallic scarf – a gift from her mom that she has only recently grown to love.
“My mom got me this scarf when I was in high school. I always told her not to buy me clothes because I usually don’t like what she picks out,” she told Go Girl. “I have held on to this scarf for 10 years, though.”
Tami is super outgoing and friendly; she works at a daycare center and loves working with the kids! She shared with us that she loves to shop at all of the excellent Seattle-area thrift shops, finding vintage treasures and amazing designer steals! She is dressed for a very special reason today:
“I am dressed head to toe in flowers today because it’s ‘Flower Day’ at the daycare center! It’s a dress up day – all of the kids come dressed in flowers. It’s a lot of fun!”

Go Girl caught up with Hannah in a trendy shopping district in Portland to chat with her about fashion. Since she recently turned 18, Hannah has been slowly adding to her number of ear piercings: we love her chevron dangle earrings and the fact that her shirt matches the can of Go Girl! This high school senior is looking forward to studying biological engineering in college, then moving into pre-med. As far as fashion goes, Hannah says she likes to keep it simple.
“My style is thrifty,” she told Go Girl. “It’s rare that I ever spend a lot of money on clothes. Unless it’s leather boots!”
Scarlett tells Go Girl that she is a huge trend follower – she considers her style right now to be very edgy and a little quirky – just like the Jeffrey Campbell gold-toe gladiator sandals she is so in love with! In fact, if it’s possible for a person to have too many Jeffrey Campbell shoes, she’s the one to do it – she can’t get enough! Since she wears so much black, she feels like she always needs a statement piece, but it doesn’t have to be expensive:
“There’s definitely a way to shop sensibly and make it look like you’re wearing thousand dollar pieces. It’s all about how you carry yourself. It’s confidence!” We completely agree!

The first thing that attracted us to Josi was the adorable boxer puppy she was holding! Josi works at a local restaurant called Besaw’s, which is well known for it’s amazing brunch menu. Josi’s style is casual and classic, and she likes to spice things up by wearing unique jewelry and accessories. We met this friendly young lady outside a coffee shop near the Portland jewelry design company betsy & iya storefront, where her beautiful necklace came from.
“My friend got me this necklace for my birthday,” she told Go Girl. “I have to force myself to stay away from the [betsy & iya] shop or else I’ll go broke!”

Kaylee works at an upscale salon as a hairdresser! For work, she dresses comfortably in order to move around – today, she’s wearing a puffer jacket and cool patterned leggings with a basic tee and hoodie. At night when she goes out, she prefers a punk style.

Amber looks amazing in an Aztec geometric print cardigan and just a pair of basic leggings paired with sparkly flats! We loved her cute braids, too! She describes her style as “classy, casual, comfortable, and cute,” and looks for things to accent her gorgeous green eyes. She’s a mommy to two girls, so she’s always happy to find great things for a bargain, and loves to find amazing pieces while thrift shopping!
“I’m curvy, and that’s a problem. I have broad shoulders, so shopping in designer stores is hard, especially for shirts. I wear a ton of cardigans!”

Daniela is studying Atmospheric Sciences and Geology in pursuit of a career in meteorology, and in hopes of working at NOAA or the National Weather Service. She just dyed her hair dark yesterday (she works in a salon, so updating her hair color happens often!) and she thought the cobalt blue of her top would bring out her blue eyes. She always wears gold jewelry to go with the gold necklace her grandmother gave her that she wears every day.
“I love leather jackets. I have black ones, a gray one, other different ones. It’s kind of a problem. My favorite is the black with gold zippers, because I wear gold every day.”

Erin changed her look from preppy to edgy just by tossing on this leather-sleeved military-style coat and pulling on a hat and scarf. She says the coat goes with a lot of things and makes everything a little bit edgy and reachable.
“I like preppy, but I don’t like to be only clean-cut. I like having a little bit more variety. I think people pigeon-hole themselves into a style. I like mixing it all and just do whatever I want.

Randa’s cute necklace caught our eye. It’s from a local Portland shop called Hunt & Gather. Randa lives in Washington D.C. but is planning on moving to Portland very soon to be closer to her boyfriend. Her style is pretty classic, but she likes to dress it up with interesting and unique accessories. Randa is a nurse, and says she feels a lot of pride in her work.
“I like taking care of people,” she told Go Girl. “It’s satisfying to know that at the end of the day, I helped someone.”

Kirstin’s passion is fashion photography! We were drawn to her bright red peacoat and super cute glasses; she says she’s a huge fan of zennioptical.com, where she got her adorable spectacles for only $30! Kirstin is also a Las Vegas native who just moved to Portland.
“We drove all over the country in a vintage van,” she told Go Girl. “By the time we got to Portland we decided to stay! It’s so much better than Las Vegas.”

“I’m a vegetarian, and want to go vegan. I heard that it’s easier to eat vegan and it’s more widely accepted in Portland,” she told Go Girl.
Ophelia is a nursing student rocking bright lipstick and cute Tory Burch boots while out shopping in Portland. Ophelia likes to keep up with fashion, and generally wears cute and casual styles. Her true fashion passion, however, is makeup!

Elizabeth has the height and build of a model, but is actually a medical doctor! We think she looks great in her distressed jeans and Frye boots. On her time off from work, Elizabeth likes to wear casual, preppy clothes. She likes to wear designer labels, and mix and match textures.
“I became a doctor because I wanted to find a career where I could use my mind and be challenged everyday,” she told Go Girl.

The hair just perfected this Michael Kors little black dress look, so we asked Amy O how she accomplishes the perfect bun. Her hair is quite wavy, so she pulls it together with swoopy bangs, a lot of backcombing, and a good amount of hairspray.
This Audrey Hepburn rockstar look is her girly work attire, but during her off time, this pretty lady loves to rock a different look. “It varies every day. Sometimes a little edgy, sometimes a little punk.”
Zippered Dress, Watch, Shoes: Michael Kors
As a barista, Nicole leaves work early in the day to enjoy an active lifestyle. A soccer player and a hiker, her wardrobe is made up of mostly premium athletic brands, such as Nike, North Face, and Under Armour. However, as you can see, she’s also incredibly talented in the cosmetics department. We loved the bold, vibrant colors she chose for her dramatic smokey eye!
“My style is pretty relaxed, but I like to look good!”

Go Girl ran into Jessica while she was on her way to a friend’s birthday party. She was in a bit of a rush, but Jessica filled us in on where she got her adorable dress… Target! We love a girl who can rock a thrifty find. This massage therapist wears comfy, yet cute clothes that she can move around in. Healing people through massage is Jessica’s main goal in life.
“Massage therapy has been my passion and dream since I was five years old,” she told Go Girl.
