About Breast Cancer
Breast cancer effects one of every eight women in the United States, it is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women and the second leading cause of cancer death in women. It is estimated that each year 252,710 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,500 will die. Women are not the only ones that are affected by breast cancer, every year it is estimated that about 2,470 men in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Thanks to advances in medicine and research there are over 3.3 million breast cancer survivors alive in the United States today.
